Martina Simpkins is a Managing Director with Prime Transatlantic. Educated as a lawyer in both her native Germany and in the United States, Martina provides strategic, legal and policy advice to corporate clients with a special focus on the transatlantic relationship, and in particular Germany. She has extensive experience covering energy, climate and natural resources, pharmaceuticals, media/high tech, international trade, and foreign investment. Martina has represented Fortune 50 corporations with global operations, as well as start-up venture companies and European businesses and business associations operating in the United States. She often works with diverse stakeholders and coalitions to help clients build consensus around policy challenges and help shape the outcome of international negotiations, as well as regulatory and legislative processes.
Martina is fluent in English, German and Spanish, and has a good working command of French. Prior to being named Managing Director with Prime Policy Group and then Prime Transatlantic, Martina worked in international law firms for over 14 years, including as partner at Schmitz Global Partners LLP, of Counsel with Bingham McCutchen LLP and Senior International Advisor in Mayer Brown LLP’s Government and Global Trade Practice. Martina is admitted to practice law in Washington, D.C., New York, and Frankfurt, Germany. She holds an LL.M. in International Law from the George Washington University Law School (2004) and a J.D., from the University of Saarland, Germany (1998). She also studied European and International Law at the Universidad Autónoma in Madrid, Spain (1994/1995).
