John P. Schmitz<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

John P. Schmitz has significant experience working on high-profile business and regulatory matters involving both American and German\/EU public policy and legal activities. As former Deputy White House Counsel to President George H.W. Bush, John has a deep working knowledge of all three branches of U.S. government, and private practice, particularly focusing on antitrust, media, energy, and environmental issues. Fluent in German from a young age, John has received recognition as a prominent German-American and was awarded the Officers Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany by German President Richard von Weizsaecker in 1990. Throughout his career, John has served on numerous boards, including the Atlantic Council, the American Council on Germany and environmental think tank C2ES.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Martina Simpkins<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Martina Simpkins was educated as a lawyer in both her native Germany and in the United States. She provides strategic and policy advice to corporate clients with a special focus on the transatlantic relationship, and in particular Germany. \u00a0Martina has represented Fortune 50 corporations with global operations, as well as start-up venture companies and European businesses and business associations operating in the United States. \u00a0She often works with diverse stakeholders and coalitions to help clients build consensus around policy challenges and help shape the outcome of international negotiations, as well as regulatory and legislative processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robert Hahn is a distinguished senior fellow at the Technology Policy Institute and an adjunct professor at Carnegie Mellon. He continues his research with the Smith School at Oxford University, focusing on designing carbon markets, analyzing low-income energy subsidies, studying ride-sharing benefits, and examining regulation’s impact on economic growth. With extensive experience in policy research, Bob has held positions at Harvard, AEI, and Brookings, and co-founded The Behavioralist to promote evidence-based policymaking for social good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
